Red Gate releases DTS Package Compare 2 for fast comparisons of complex DTS packages

CAMBRIDGE, U.K., January 31, 2006 – Red Gate Software has released DTS Package Compare 2, a $295 tool that enables fast comparisons of Data Transformation Services packages, regardless of the complexity and number of packages on a system.

Despite Microsoft's introduction of SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) in SQL Server 2005, a recent survey of SQL Server professionals shows that 73 percent still use DTS frequently. Eighty-four percent (84%) of these professionals use DTS to create and modify packages, 62 percent to administer and deploy packages, and 58 percent to test and troubleshoot tasks and packages.
