Licensing activates product as standard edition

After activating a Red Gate software product, products for which you have a Professional Edition licence may activate with a "Standard Edition" licence.

There is a bug in the client licensing software whereby, if the serial number is activated from within one of the products that only comes in the Standard Edition, all of the products are licensed as the Standard Edition regardless of whether they should be the Professional Edition or not.

The solution until this bug has been completely eradicated from SQL Toolbelt is to deactivate the serial number on the machine using the deactivation tool. You can download the deactivation tool from:

www.red-gate.com/deactivationtool

Start one of the Red Gate tools that is supplied as the Professional Edition in the SQL Toolbelt and enter the serial number. The Professional Edition tools will then be activated as the Professional Edition.
