Some Red Gate products identified as containing a trojan by Anti-Virus software

If you use anti-virus software, you may find that it identifies some Red Gate product .dll files as containing a trojan program "Trojan.MSIL.Agent.fas".
This is a false alert, and you should tell the anti-virus software to ignore the warning.
The products that have caused this alert recently are:
- ANTS Memory Profiler 7
- SQL Compare 9
- SQL Data Compare 9
- SQL Prompt 5
- SQL Search 1
- SQL Source Control 1
- SSMS Integration Pack 1
Why is the file flagged as potentially harmful?
Some code within the file is being incorrectly matched against that of an entirely unrelated program. The .dll files have been checked by Red Gate Software and do not pose any danger to your computer.
How can I be sure that the DLLs in my Red Gate product are unaffected?
The tables below shows the SHA-1 hashes of all DLLs in the products listed above. SHA-1 hashes are a way to represent the contents of a file as a short hexadecimal sequence. If the file changes by even one character, the SHA-1 hash will change too.
You can use the SHA-1 hashes below to check that the copies of the DLLs installed on your computer are the same as the ones released by Red Gate, and not versions that have been altered subsequently by a virus. To obtain the SHA-1 hash of the DLLs on your computer:
- Download and install Microsoft FCIV, following the installation instructions on the download page.
- At the command prompt, type:
fciv.exe "C:\Program Files\Red Gate\{ProductName} {Version}\" -r -type *.dll -sha1
replacing {ProductName} {Version} with the name and version of the product you wish to check.
Note: If you use a 64-bit computer, you may need to change the path to C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Gate\ for many Red Gate SQL tools.
- For each file listed, check the SHA-1 hash against the value in the table below.
