When SQL Response is operational, it can potentially transfer a lot of data between the Alert Repository and the SQL Server.

The SQL Server error log reader in SQL Response is the most likely source of data being pulled from the SQL Server. Every few seconds (60 seconds, by default), the Alert Repository will initiate a complete scan of the current log file using the sp_readerrorlog stored procedure. If the log files are allowed to grow very large, this increases the amount of data being read by the Alert Repository.

There are a few strategies that you can use to limit the amount of data.
  · Create a new SQL Agent job to periodically run sp_cycle_errorlog, for instance, once daily
  · Limit the size of the SQL Agent History log (for instance, to 1000 rows)
