SQL Log Rescue needs to read a full backup of the database in order to understand the database schema before it can generate a script to recover data. During this process, you may encounter an error similar to:
The file has been ignored because it contains no relevant backup information
The cause of this may simply be that the full backup file you have specified as part of the Log Rescue project is part of a set of backup files. Although the error message does nothing to indicate the cause of the problem, you need to be aware that Log Rescue cannot analyze split-file backups; it can only analyze a full backup contained in a single file.
Multithreaded backups created by SQL Backup version 5, where the THREADCOUNT parameter was used to back up on multiple threads to a single backup file, also suffer from this issue. The same error will be shown by Log Rescue as if the specified backup file was part of a set.
