Insufficient quota to complete the requested service

SQL Backup operations fail with the error message "Insufficient quota to complete the requested service". The SQL error code returned is 112 (disk is full).

This can happen because the password for the startup account of the SQL Backup Agent has expired and needs to be changed. You can check this by opening a command prompt and running the command 'NET USER <username>', adding the '/DOMAIN' argument if the startup user for the SQL Backup Agent Service is a domain user as opposed to a local computer user.

If the password needs to be changed, affect the change in Computer Management (or Active Directory users and groups for a domain account) and open the local computer's Services control panel and open the SQL Backup Agent service to change the startup user's password, then restart the SQL Backup Agent service.

If the "Insufficient quota" message is accompanied by system error 1453, this issue has an entirely different cause. Please search for "1453" in the Red Gate knowledge base for the solution.
