Cannot save or see backup templates

In certain circumstances, saved backup templates may become invisible or incapable of being saved after an edit.

A possible cause for this could be due to rights in the area of the registry of the SQL Server computer where the templates are saved.

Check to see if the Log-on account used for the SQL Backup Agent Service has permissions to the registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Red Gate\SQL Backup\BackupSettings\(LOCAL) (Replace "(LOCAL)" with instance name, if this is a named SQL instance).

The startup account used by the SQL Backup Agent Service on the local SQL Server requires permission to read, write and delete objects for this registry key.
