This page describes what to do if the error message 'Using JET databases is not possible in 64-bit applications' is displayed after invoking SmartAssembly from MSBuild or TFS running on a 64-bit computer.
Problem
SmartAssembly starts as a 64-bit application, but JET databases (.mdb files) can be queried only from 32-bit applications. Therefore, SmartAssembly cannot update its database.
Cause
MSBuild or TFS is running as a 64-bit application, and invokes SmartAssembly in 64-bit mode.
Solution
Either use a SQL server database, or invoke SmartAssembly from MSBuild or TFS running on a 32-bit computer.
