SQL Storage Compress - 6.1
Uninstalling SQL Storage Compress
Important: any compressed databases managed by SQL Storage Compress will no longer be accessible after the HyperBac Compression Engine Components have been uninstalled. Before uninstalling, you should convert any compressed databases that you may later want to access. Any SQL Virtual Restore databases or SQL HyperBac backups will also become inaccessible.
The SQL Storage Compress user interface and the HyperBac Compression Engine Components are listed as two separate entries in the Add or Remove Programs control panel. You can uninstall the programs from here in the normal way.
After uninstalling the HyperBac Compression Engine Components, you should restart your computer to complete the uninstall process.
After you have uninstalled the HyperBac Compression Engine Components, a number of user-generated files will remain in %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Red Gate\HyperBac (on 64-bit machines) or %ProgramFiles%\Red Gate\HyperBac (on 32-bit machines).
Note: if you have created encrypted database files with SQL Storage Compress or encrypted backups with SQL HyperBac, and may need to access these in future, you should not delete the files in the keys directory. See Working with key files for encrypted data for more information.
