Installing and activating - SQL HyperBac
Installation
Installation is straightforward, with an install wizard that walks you through the installation process.
Note that, if you are upgrading from an earlier version of the software (previously known as "HyperBac for SQL Server"), you will need to reboot your server before you can use SQL HyperBac.
At the end of the installation process, an activation dialog is displayed.
Activation
SQL HyperBac uses the standard Red Gate licensing and activation program. For more information, see Activating your products.
To re-run the licensing and activation program after you've installed SQL HyperBac, right-click the HyperBac Status Manager
in the Windows system tray, and select Licensing.
HyperBac for SQL Server-style licensing
Earlier versions of SQL HyperBac (HyperBac for SQL Server) used a different method for licensing and activation that was based on license files.
The HyperBac Configuration Utility in version 5.0 supports the original licensing and activation method with the Apply HyperBac License File option on the General tab:
