Printing the diagram - SQL Dependency Tracker
You can print the dependency diagram on a single page or over multiple pages, so that you can see the diagram at a suitable scale. SQL Dependency Tracker prints the entire dependency diagram with the current layout and detail (such as table column names and relative importance bars).
The printed diagram includes all the objects in the current diagram, including connection lines, but it does not include the color differences that indicate selected objects. If you want to print the diagram with the color differences, export it to PDF, then print from the PDF file.
To print the diagram:

Tips for printing the diagram
The Print dialog box shows the diagram on a grid that indicates page breaks, so you can see roughly how objects will be laid out on the printed pages. If an area of the diagram does not have any objects or connection lines on it, no page is printed for that area (these areas are shown grayed-out on the Print dialog box).
You can use the options on the Print dialog box to change the number and layout of pages.
- You can change the scale (the number of pages that the diagram is printed on) by using Increase and Decrease under Print Size.
- You can change where the page breaks occur by switching between Portrait and Landscape page layouts.
When you make changes to the scale or page layout, SQL Dependency Tracker redraws the grid so that you can see how the printed diagram is affected.
If you want to move objects around (for example, so they are not split over two pages), close the Print dialog box, then move the objects on the diagram as required.
For a more detailed view of how the objects will look on the page, click Full Size Print Preview. This opens a new dialog box that shows the diagram at full size, with page breaks, and enables you to zoom in and zoom out.
Assembling the printed diagram
When you print over multiple pages, a page number is added to the lower left corner of each page to indicate the location of the page, so you can assemble the printed diagram. The number has the format row_number,column_number, according to its position in the grid shown on Print dialog. For example, the upper left page is always numbered 1,1 (which indicates row 1, column 1).
In the illustration that follows, we have added numbers to show how pages are numbered for a diagram that is printed over six pages. Note that in this example, the lower left page is shown in gray, which means means that there are no objects on this page, so the page will not be printed.
