Corrupted messages in imported PST file

Category: Troubleshooting & error messages

This article describes how to handle corrupted messages in imported PST files.

How does the corruption occur?

When importing PST files, you are likely to encounter corrupted messages within the PST files.

This may be because of the utilities that were used, for example, the mails may have been exported from one mail system, such as Apple mail and then imported into a different mail system, such as Microsoft Outlook.

What can PST Importer do about this?

It is not the responsibility of PST Importer to fix corrupted messages. If you cannot open the message in Microsoft Outlook, PST Importer will treat the message as corrupted.

So, What do I do about corrupted messages?

Remove the message from the PST file. If you do not remove the message, it will be ignored and not imported. You can then decide whether to import the message manually or investigate why it became corrupted.
