This article describes the problems PST Importer has when importing messages that contain embedded OLE attachments. Non-OLE attachments, such as PDFs, are handled without any problems.
What are the problems?
If messages contain embedded OLE attachments, the following issues may occur when converting the messages from RTF format to HTML format:
- In the case of attached images, PST Importer attempts to convert the images, but cannot guarantee the quality of the conversion.
- Embedded spreadsheets cannot be converted.
A warning message is displayed. You can then import the spreadsheet separately.
What should I do?
In Outlook, after import, you will be given an icon for the missing image, which you can click to open the image. Images are converted and become normal attachments. If there are any problems, a warning message is displayed.
