Preventing the Outlook Add-in and UAA Service web page from prompting for credentials

Category: Troubleshooting & error messages

If your User Archive Access (UAA) Service URL has been set up using a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or IP Address, you may be prompted for Windows credentials when you open Microsoft® Outlook® or the UAA Service web page.

This is because Internet Explorer identifies the IP Address/FQDN as being in the Internet Zone instead of the Intranet Zone.

To remedy this, add the UAA Service web page to the local intranet zone sites so that your Windows credentials are passed automatically.

  1. Open Internet Options from Internet Explorer or the Control Panel, and select the Security tab.
  2. Select Local intranet, and then Sites.
  3. Select Advanced and enter the website address.

    For example: https://esabox/uaaservice

  4. Click Add.

If your UAA Service is not using https, you may need to clear the Require HTTPS for all sites in this zone check box.

  5. Close all Internet Options windows.

You may wish to add the UAA Service website to the Local intranet sites in your group policy; otherwise, you will have to repeat this action on multiple computers.
