Searching all archived messages with Exchange Server Archiver

Exchange Server Archiver provides the User Archive Access (UAA) Service so that you can access archived messages without using Microsoft® Outlook or Outlook Web Access.

If you are an administrator, you can use the UAA Service to search all archived messages, for all users. To do this, you must first specify the security group that will have access to the Admin Search:

  1. On the Admin Search menu, click Set Up Admin Search Access.

  2. Type the name of the security group, and then click OK.

You can specify only one security group. If you want to more than one security group to have access, create a new security group in Active Directory containing the all the security groups for which you want to set up access.

To use the Admin Search:

  • On the Admin Search menu, click Launch Admin Search.

    The UAA Service is displayed:

To search multiple mailboxes, separate each email address with a semi-colon. For example:

To search all mailboxes, leave In mailbox blank.
