Which editors does SQL Prompt 3.9 work with?

SQL Prompt 3.9 supports SQL Server Management Studio (2005 and 2008), Management Studio Express (2005), Query Analyzer, Visual Studio (2005 and 2008), and Visual Studio Team Edition for Database Professionals (Data Dude).

How do I change configuration settings for SQL Prompt – where is the options dialog?

The SQL Prompt options are available via the main menu bar in SQL Server Management Studio or Query Analyzer. Just click on SQL Prompt > Options.

How can I use the space key or change the keys used for code completion?

Open the Options dialog, and click on the Candidates tab. Then, under Completion Keys, ensure that the Spacebar is selected.

Does SQL Prompt 3.9 support cross-database and cross-server queries?

Yes. SQL Prompt 3.9 supports cross-database queries and distributed queries using linked SQL Server instances. SQL Server 2000, 2005, and 2008 are supported.

I can't find the SQL Prompt menu in Management Studio. Where is it?

The SQL Prompt menu is located on the main menu bar, but it does sometimes seem to disappear, or appears disabled, for no apparent reason. If this happens to you, exit Management Studio, click Start > Run, then type sqlwb/setup and hit OK.
