I am hoping to use Profiler to track down a memory leak in a application using remoting. The remoting endpoint is housed in IIS. I've just downloaded a trial and gone through the wizard but it fails to start saying
'Timed out waiting for port 80 on 127.0.0.1 to become available'.

Is it possible for Profiler to analyse an application that uses Remoting?

Thanks for your post.

Could you kindly send us the log files at support@red-gate.com?

To locate the log files please navigate to %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Red Gate\ANTS Performance Profiler 4 .

This log file will help us to investigate further.

Ideally you should have log files in that folder.

Which version of IIS are you using?
As you can try specifying unused port with IIS through Ants Profiler Project Wizard.

Also can you try profiling this application with our ANTS Memory Profiler 5 and ANTS Performance Profiler 5 release candidate builds?
You can get them from:

http://downloads.red-gate.com/ANTSProfiler/EAP/ANTSMemoryProfiler_5.0.0.874_AnyCpu.exe (ANTS Memory Profiler 5 RC)
http://downloads.red-gate.com/ANTSProfiler/EAP/ANTSProfiler_5.0.0.201_AnyCpu.exe (ANTS Performance Profiler 5 RC)

Just for your reference a tutorial video for the memory profiler is available on YouTube, in two parts, at:

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=0589CFA7EB46587E

Or as a single download from:

ftp://ftp.red-gate.com/ANTSMemoryProfilerBeta/Tutorial_HowToFindAMemoryLeak_Full_Video.wmv

Kindly let us know if the latest version resolves your issue or not and also if you have any queries,I'll like to help.
