| I want to use the tool to merge changes from an expired subscriber of replication. Has anyone used the tool to serve this purpose? |

Thank you for your post into the forum.
SQL Data Compare is not a replacement or alternative to Microsoft Merge Replication.
The product basically compares the data located in two data sources and generates a synchronization script so that both data sources become identical.
You can download a KB article that contains advice and best practises for synchronizing data. It was written for an earlier version of SQL Data Compare but the princples remain the same. The document can be obtained from HERE
