Fairly early on in the compare, I get:

at System.IO.BinaryWriter.Write(Byte value)
at #3HJ.#7HJ.#CIJ(RowComparisonResult rowComparisonResult, BinaryWriter writer)
at #3HJ.#5HJ.Add(RowComparisonResult rowResult)
at RedGate.Oracle.DataCompare.DataComparer.Compare()
at ›.›..Ž.—()
at RedGate.Shared.Controls.ProgressDialogEx.e()

I'm comparing "everything" from 2 different schemas in the same database.

Hi Johannes,

we think that we have fixed this issue in development. I will send you out an updated build once we've run some more tests.

Ho Johannes,

we have fixed this issue and refreshed the EAP. You can download the installer from http://downloads.red-gate.com/EAP/DataCompareForOracle/RedGateToolsForOracle.exe

Do let us know if the problem occurs again?
