- Fragmented indexes tab for the alert.
- Alert history tab for the alert.
- Click on 'configure alert' link on the alert details page and then send screen shot of the Alert settings page.

Thanks,

sql monitor alert level not changing down a level

I have the alert "Increased % of fragmented indexes" set up on sql monitor. The medium level alert is set when the value reaches 25 and the alert was fired at value 29. I last night ran some index maintenance jobs to rebuild if over 30% fragmentation and reorganise if over 5%.
The alert collects the data once a day @ 13:35 and i can see the alert has now been 'downgraded' from medium to Low when i click on the 'alert history'
How is it then, that the actual alert on the inbox is still showing as 'Medium' - should this not have changed to a blue 'low'.?
Also if i set to re-organise my indexes with 5% or above fragmentation level, howcome this is still showing as a downgraded leve. Shouldnt it be set to 'ended'
Thanks
RE: Exporting SQL Monitor 2.3 alert data

Unfortunately, this is difficult. The data for any alert is not stored in one particular table within the data repository. Also the development team have not been able to provide documentation to help.

I would recommend that you post a suggestion on the SQL Monitor UserVoice Forum. This is used by the development team to gather suggestions and gauge interest in those ideas. At the very least you should get a better response direct from the development team.
RE: Windows authentication in IIS 7

Thank you for your post.

Where are you trying to use Windows Authentication? It isn't entirely clear in your post.

The tool login has three user rules which do not support Windows Authentication in any way. But windows user accounts can be used for the actual monitoring.

But if you can clarify what you are trying to do, then I might be able to give a more specific answer.
This way the popularity of product suggestions is monitored so the most popular suggestions will be considered.

SQL Monitor currently allows only one time setting for the maintenance window that can be applied to the chosen days of the week.

Exporting SQL Monitor 2.3 alert data

Hello,

Is there any way to export data (Excel or CSV) from the list of uncleared alerts that show when one clicks Overview?

I have a list of Deadlock alerts and would like not to have to go through them one by one. I know this data is in the RedGateMonitor database somewhere but -- if there is no easy way to export from the Admin site -- I don't know the exact tables and queries to use to extract the data.

Thanks for any help. Let me know if you need any more information.

Windows authentication in IIS 7

Hello,

I am having some trouble getting SQL Monitor to use Windows authentication through IIS.

If I enable windows authentication and disable forms authentication in IIS, I get prompted for a username and password.
Entering credentials in this prompt does not work.
Aborting it, I this;

HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized
You are not authorized to view this page due to invalid authentication headers.

lookint at http headers in firebug, I send NTLM Authorization header to the server, but the response only has a WWW-Authenticate	Negotiate NTLM header in it.

NTLM authentication is working fine against other sites hosted on a different IIS server.

I have tried this a few times now, with no success.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

// Cheers, Morten

Maintenance Window

This is a suggestion.

Actually we can set maintenance window i.e from 11pm, 5 hours.
May be is more useful working time:
From Monday to Friday, 6am to 10pm and nothing on weekends or Monday to Friday, 6am to 10pm and Saturday from 6am to 1pm and nothing on Sunday.

Just a thought.
•	Time ranges and comparison on the Analysis graph are fully customisable, making it easier to identify unusual patterns of behaviour.
•	Log files can be retrieved from the ‘Configuration -> About’ page.
SQL Monitor - Base Monitor Fault

Morning All,

Have put this to Redgate Support but have heard nothing back as of Friday afternoon and see no harm in seeking alternative advice.

We have purchased the DBA Bundle because we are using the SQL Prompt and Backup Pro and for the money it was well worth the punt.

I used SQL Monitor previously at another business and was impressed with it that I have attempted to set it up in-house here.

I didn't have a problem previously although this time around I seem to be getting a problem with the Base Monitor when starting SQL Monitor.

All my credentials are correct at the service has started successfully however I am getting this error everytime I access the webpage:

I have tried re-installation and I have also deleted the *.pfx file to no effect.

Anybody else have any other suggestions?

Regards,
