There is no crash, it says it builds the assembly yet it doesnt build the assembly.

The only option I have set in SA in the error reporting. Its only just started happening. It used to work on the previous apps, I just figured there was a bug somewhere.

Hello,

I am currently having the same issue using version 6.8.0.117. Line numbers sometimes seem to be incorrect by one or more lines. I have created a little repo that illustrates the problem:

Use build config 'Release_Obfuscated' which automatically creates the obfuscated assembly using the supplied .saproj file.

What I have found out is that setting 'Control Flow Obfuscated' level changes the returned line numbers. I dont know if all levels should support the decoding, but I found no statement telling me otherwise.

In SA I added the DLL to the main exe and then moved the exe away from the DLL to check it and sure enough they werent added even though the exe grew because when I moved it away from the DLL it just crashed, didnt even get my error box reporter come up.

A bug?

So I had one project successfully built by the assembly.

I made another project and I followed all the steps like the last project and now I am getting errors about a key not located.

The instructions on the site after having some help the first time around are not exactly clear and need to be rewritten and not wrote by a rocket scientist either.

So with this project I can build and publish no worries there, I add the code for SA and BAM!!!

What the heck does this mean

I opted to not create a key yet its looking for a key, drives me mad this does.

Where is that nice person that help me the first time around, you're a gem.

What we can say is- we have unique techniques for ensuring the security of your assemblies as used by thousands of professional developers all over the world.

I must also say that we can't *guarantee* that the protections we provide are infallible as obfuscation is a technique only for making it *harder* to reverse-engineer- not impossible.

But, there's (almost) no such thing as perfect security anyway- we offer an excellent compromise between usability and security that we'd encourage you to try for yourself.

One last thing, I certainly use it!

With so many options inside SA how can we be sure that after signing it that its secure and if someone does take a debug tool too it how can I be safe knowing the information inside is secure?

Sure I can open the reflector and it says:

You simply open up your solution, but don't "debug" it. Instead, run your obfuscated application, then attach to it from within visual studio. The process is similar to debugging a windows service, as you cannot start these from within visual studio and need to use the same "attach" method - see [url=http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/7a50syb3(v=vs.80).aspx]here[/url]

(I should point out this is all nothing to do with Smartassembly, but simply how to debug a running process)
