Version 7 fixes a number of bugs and adds support for more high level C# features such as iterator blocks. We�ve also added a new tabbed browsing model and included Jason Haley�s PowerCommands add-in as an exploratory step for future versions. The release of version 7 also means that the free version of .NET Reflector is no longer available for download.

Just had my first pop-up when launching Visual Studio about Reflector being out-of-date. I wasn't too crazy about the experience of this as it is disconnected from the primary UX of Visual Studio. I would much rather see it either be a notice when the actual Reflector UI launches or use the VS Extension Manager which notifies via a tray icon.

The whole update experience of taking me to a download page rather than having a self-updating option is up for debate as well. Personally I don't mind installing an MSI package that puts everything in its right place. I like, for example, the balance Telerik has struck in offering both automated (Windows Installer) and manual (zip file) installation options.

I'm working with a client's laptop which lacks the luxury of an SSD. I'm finding the little animations around the tab area are noticably slow and would like to see them disabled if possible as they add no value to the user experience. Reflector needs to be fast and polished - I'm not looking for animations to slow down my workflow.

I'm afraid not. I made the change after the beta went out. We may do another beta very soon.

I have tried the current build of Reflector x.399 I am no longer seeing the error regarding the mutex not being able to be opened.

I am also able to decompile and navigate into .NET assembly using the same steps which I mentioned in the orginal post.

Prior to this build I could not unless I was an Admin

If you have installed the previous beta, this is also available using the "check for updates" on the Help menu.

This release includes a number of bug fixes since the last beta.

Hi, my beta has expired, but doesn't find any updates. I am a Pro customer - anything I can do?

Manually re-installing makes no difference..

I don't believe I mentioned this but yes this is 64 bit Win7 I'm running with.

I will check back tomorrow or Thursday, download the update and see whether your fix resolves this issue.

Sorry regarding step one I mistakenly thought this the project Refector was a sample I got from Redgate given the name; Disregard this instead following these instructions

1) In VS2010 create a new project specify the .NET library to be 3.5 _not_ the default 4..0.

2) Add the below code snippet or create your own which references a .NET class library I really don't think it matters.

3) Follow steps 2) through 4 in my original post. You will see the 2nd or 3rd time you use Reflector that DevStudio dies. My suspicion given the circumstance is this has to do with the VS Reflector Addin.
